Leicestershire waterways:  rivers, streams, canals. pools and reservoirs

Currently I'm looking at local waterways and really enjoying sketching and painting them - there are all sorts of new challenges like the canal boats and buildings.  Scenes can be incredibly complex.  I really like the contrasts in scenery along the canals and rivers from the industrial heart of the city to the wilder quieter stretches.  Even in the city there are swans nesting, moorhens passing and nature fighting back with lush growth in unexpected places.
